Sydney Sweeney Wears Sheer Couture Dress For “Reality” Premiere

The latest celebrity to push the boundaries of fashion’s newfound love with translucent cloth is Sydney Sweeney. Near-transparent gowns have been worn by everyone from Charlize Theron to Kylie Jenner, and now Sweeney’s most recent couture costume is demonstrating that the risque trend has considerable staying power.

Sweeney wore a black Schiaparelli dress with strategically placed transparent panels at the Museum of Modern Art New York premiere, the upcoming HBO Films biopic in which the actress plays whistleblower Reality Winner.

The item is a part of the French label’s haute couture spring/summer 2023 collection, which was inspired by Dante’s “The Divine Comedy” and included animal-like designs by creative director Daniel Roseberry.

Sweeney chose to go the easy approach with wavy, textured hair and less jewelry as opposed to the runway version, which had golden makeup.

The dress has a simple aesthetic, which allows the numerous panels of layered fabric to highlight the wearer’s figure.

Two weeks before Sweeney’s Schiaparelli moment, the star wore a powder pink Miu Miu column dress at the Met Gala, which had a Karl Lagerfeld theme.

Sweeney recently wrapped filming on Anything But You, a forthcoming rom-com in which she stars alongside Glenn Powell (rumors swirled of the actors sparking a romance while on set in Australia).

“It was such a blast,” Sweeney told reports during the Reality premiere.

“I mean, Australia was such a beautiful place to film, and the cast and crew were so much fun. I was living my best life. I loved it.”
